Oh . . . WAIT! What is that? Look . . . On his forehead!
Could it be?! Yep! A BIG BOOBOO with six stitches!
Yep! Our first emergency room visit! Fortunately there were no gang related injuries in the ER and since he was bleeding QUITE A BIT, they got us right in!
We were at Bo's baseball practice last night and Kash took a slip and crashed head first into the corner of a wooden bleacher. I found motion and movement I thought I had lost when I jumped up to get him. Of course, a head wound always bleeds like crazy so not only did I have a screaming child but quite a mess!
My Mother's Heart was pounding rapidly as I took care of him. It was quite an experience in the ER - they got him right in and I had a fabulous nurse and Nurse Practioner who really handled Kash well.
Took six stitches to get the gash closed up! I let him stay up until Daddy got home from a teamroping in Enid, OK. Daddy was sick that his 'lil man was hurt and he wasn't here . . . BUT
You can't keep a good 'lil man down!
God never promises that bad things won't happen, but He does promise His comfort and strength!
~Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4~
Blessings~

Poor kiddo! But that is good bragging rights when you are a rowdy little boy;)
Man, oh man! He sounds like he's as graceful as me! Glad to see him smiling!
Oh how sweet! I miss my son being little!
BTW come on over, I have something for you!
Have an amazing and blessed week.
Poor little guy! That looks like it hurt!
I marvel at all you studied gals who can come up with the perfect scripture to match the situation. I know God has the word for whatever we need but I just have to be content that they are in there somewhere! I know that in my heart! And to a lesser degree, in my head!
Oh, poor little guy. Glad it is not keeping him down. amazing how kids just bounce back from things like that. I would still have a migraine.
Oh wow! That's quite the war wound!
Holy Cow! What a tough guy! Give him a little Kiss for me!
Mom, sounds like you handled it well. I'm very proud of you....
miss ya
Bless his little pea pickin heart! Now am I to understand that's ya'lls first trip to the ER? Or his first trip? You know what they say in rodeo's? Good thing he landed on his head - cause cowboys are so dang hard headed! Very thankful he's doing well.
OUCH! Glad you ALL survived the booboo!
Ouchie! That's one thing I do not look forward to! It makes me just sick to see a little one hurt. :( I'd love to get an e-mail from ya, and would gladly take any advice you have. okiebelle at flowersllc dot com is my e-mail. I can give you a more detailed idea of what we're dealing with. I was going to call a lactation consultant today, but the weather was so bad I doubt anyone was in the office, so I think I'll try tomorrow.
Wow...four kids and just now the first ER and stitches? We did that on child number one...twice in six months...broken arm, then stitched the tip of a finger back on!
That "booboo" must be worth MAJOR points on the Carlson/Yaussi injury calculator!! How many?!!?
Hey Friends! Kash is doing alot better and asked me if the booboo was gone yet! Of course, I am nervous everytime he jumps from the sofa to the floor!
Well . . . Valerie - since this is the first real injury, I'm gonna say on a 1-10 scale, it was an 8. Now, as I have more of these, the criteria will probably weaken!
Oh no!! Poor kid! I bet that hurt!! And I could only imagine the craziness of him crying and his head bleeding! Oh girl, I am glad he is okay. And what a trooper!
Chicks love scars!! That will come in handy someday...sorry mom -probably not the best thing to say....thankful he's okay!!
Yeah, looks like at least an 8 to me! If you photographed it with blood pouring ouy, he'd probably have gotten more points!!
Goodness gracious, glad he is alright.
THey do bleed like crazy! My daughter was hit in the head with a baseball bat and by the time we got to the ER I was covered in blood, she was, it was a nightmare! Over the years her scar has grown in to her hair line. It freaked me out for sure!
He made it to age 6 before his first ER trip? Wowzers! Lucky you! We started at about age two!
Good luck with the drums!!
