Arctic Blast over the Green Funk!

We had a glorious day Sunday and Monday morning was beautiful and then the Arctic blast hit! We are now in the low teens having just been in the high 50s. No wonder we are always sick!

We visited New Foundation on Sunday, SERM8OR, is the pastor there and he introduced us to a couple interested in our ministry. Then we came home, ate a quick lunch, and saddled up the horses! Had some friends over to rope and we did. . . all afternoon! Do I have pictures? NO - only one of our friend Kirk, a.k.a "Big Dog" from a previous time over. Rick gave Kirk the name Big Dog years ago when they first met. You see, Kirk stands about 5'2" maybe . . . he told Rick one day that it wasn't the size of the dog, but the bite in the dog that mattered. Hence, Big Dog!

Now, even though we had a glorious day and we thought the funk was gone, it wasn't! Poor Bo started in at Midnight and threw up consistently until 9:00am. Doing better today, thank the Lord. The funny thing about this is . . .Rick has been known to just fly out of bed, I mean, he's not even awake yet and he's out of bed and running!

I heard Bo yell, "Mommmmm" and Rick heard someone yell, "Helllpp"! I'm sitting up, getting my land legs because I know that if Bo can holler my name, he's made it to the bathroom. Rick on the other hand heard "Heeeeellllppppp!" I'm laughing now as I type this because he flung the covers back, (he could because they were nice and neat), flew outa bed and took off running! Now, I gotta tell ya - have you ever seen a drunk man try to walk? They kinda side pass as they're trying to make their way forward. Well, I got in right behind hime because, well dadgum, no telling what the man might do when he hears "Heeelllpp!"

Since I am the Queen of my doublewide trailer, let me tell you a little about it - as you know, a doublewide is split down the middle for transport - so with ours you can literally step out the master bedroom run straight through the living room, through the kitchen, through the dinning room, right to all three bedrooms and the kid's bathroom! It's not a design to win awards, but It's quite handy, the K's have races on their stick horses and can get going pretty fast.

Okay - So Super Rick takes off! I saw flash and he was outta the bedroom - now you have to make a little joggle to miss the sofa and hit the kitchen entrance just right! Barely missing the sofa with his right knee he is picking up speed, he needs to miss the island in the kitchen, though, or that will hurt! Wait - I see him side pass a little as he's approaching and he narrowly misses the island and skims the edge of the bar, fortunately there is a little more room in the dining area for him to "make his pocket" (barrel racing lingo) for the turn into the bathroom. By the time I get to him and Bo, he's leaning on the cabinets and quickly says, Woman, get a glass of water for the boy! Issuing me orders!

So, we are snuggled in bed last night and I just get to laughting, I told him, "You know, I'm gonna have to post this." He said, "You just make sure your blog ladies get the right story!" So . . . being the good wife that I am, I asked him to clarify his version.

First off - his natural instinct to protect his family kicked in when he heard, "Heeellpp." I said, that Bo hollered "Moooommmm". No, it was "Heeelllpp!" He was wide awake when he made his rapid exit, the sofa moved over on its own out of sheer terror. Striking like lightning, he only had to take three long strides through the house. He was going so fast that the g-forces were causing the pull in his super hero form as he made his entrance into the dining room. Traveling at mach, he was making his turn for the bathroom, skidding on one foot, as he broke the speed of sound!

I may be the "Queen" of my doublewide trailer, but he is the "Super Hero!"

Now . . . for some random pictures from a previous day of roping! I found smudges all over my lense so overlook the splothes!

COMING SOON! Bailey's New Friend!

LOL! You are too funny!! I think if our husbands want to set the record straight they should have to post once in a while. On second thought, that might not be such a good idea!

I am wiping down the monitor with antibacterial wipes, just in case the green funk comes through. ;)

Ha! I needed a good laugh, I'm glad that SuperDad didn't break anything in his quest to protect ya'll. Hoping EVERYONE is done with all that crud by now. Love the pictures, too. The puppy is still adorable, as are the kids.

This reminds me of the time our son tumbled down the stairs and CJ bolted like a mad man to get to him. Our son was absolutely FINE...CJ broke his toe. LOL. I would LOVE follow your family around and take some pics sometime this Spring when the weather AND your family is feeling better!!!

Just what I needed to get myself awake this mornin'...a big chuckle! I had to set my coffee down so as to NOT spill it! You painted a perfect picture...to sit on the sidelines and watch the whole incident! Good thing agility works in the middle of the night! My toes or something would have been busted!
Now...you have the greatest looking family! And what fun you all share!
But...one of the little guys is missing his boots...bet those sox were full of dust come quittin' time!
