The Batteries are Dead!
We had an awesome time today pulling the kids on an innertube behind the four-wheeler! It was freezing cold and we were completely numb when we came in but it was a blast. I did get some pictures and as soon as I get new batteries, I'll upload them! It's 22 degrees outside! But our home fire is burning! Thanks ALABAMA! Blessings!

Hard-Ball, Fast-Ball, Change-Up
This is my guy, Bo! He can play some ball! With a three-run homer and two grand slams under his belt, you better believe I like to watch and cheer! This is my favorite picture of him pitching at a tournament in Tulsa. This is his first year pitching and I can't believe how hard the kid throws. I don't catch for him anymore . . . I don't want to get a broken nose or black eye when I miss! I am a Proud Mom!
Buzz Cuts!
When you give a boy a haircut with a device that goes buzzzzzzzzzzzz, they seem to have a power surge! They start out all lovey and cute . . .
and then BAM! You are at the zoo watching the monkey exhibit! They jump back and forth! I am a bad mom because sometimes they land on their heads . . . and yes, I laugh!
And then the next thing you know . . . EXHAUSTION!

~ Friends ~
When we moved down here to Udall, it was getting me closer to where I grew up. I fell in love with the land because it rolled a little and took me back to years gone by. I have realized that years gone by are just that, gone. It is the years to come that matter most.
I have two new friendships that I plan to carry on into the years; Jennifer is in Udall and the first person to introduce herself to me. She is precious and an answer to prayer. Leslie married one of the local boys that I considered a friend and I felt an instant connection with her the minute I met her. We like alot of the same things and can talk for hours! The wonderful thing about these two women is that they both share with me, Faith in our Savior, Jesus! What an incredible thing the Lord has done for me. I am truly blessed!

The Hot Heels!
Since our arena is not up yet, the guys still need to practice. So instead of live cattle, we use a mechanical steer called a "Hot Heels". It is pulled with the four-wheeler and Rick can do all kinds of practice and training on his horses behind this thing. Here is Rick heeling on our little horse, Blackie. You can see the rope coming around the feet, and yes . . . he has two of them! We can take it out slow or get the steer going at a good clip making it feel like an actual run at a teamroping event. If you ever want to give it a try, give us a call!

Cornerstone Leadership
The Broken Y had the priviledge of hosting Cornerstone Fellowship's Ministry Leaders for a day of fun filled with a time of worship, good food, skeet shooting, horseback riding, sitting around an open fire and and enjoying the fresh outdoors! The ladies had a good time visiting and enjoying each other's company - J

October 7 marked the 3rd birthday of our "monkies" - Klay and Kash. I am the only one in our family who likes icing on my cake so birthday cakes are made WITHOUT icing. I know . . . it's just not natural! Here are the boys blowing out their candles!

A Lazy Sunday
Okay - So I am not very good yet at keeping up with my blog! So here is a fresh, new post and if any of you experienced bloggers can help me work out the kinks, I would appreciate and welcome the help! This is a work in progress!
Rick went to Pawhuska, OK today to a teamroping jackpot and the kids and I lounged, lounged, and lounged. When Rick is gone we always have breakfast for dinner - our favorite is French Toast. This was my last horrahh! because tomorrow the "oh my-what have I done?" diet starts! Of course, I left my camera at the office and so I have no pictures to show of us doing nothing but we had a good time.
It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is two weeks away - what beautiful weather we are having! This is my favorite time of year! I look out over our hay meadow into the timber and the trees are turning beautiful shades of yellow and orange and it reminds me that in James 1 verse 17 every perfect gift is from our Father in heaven, who is unchanging and ever faithful!
Blessings! Paula
