Rick drew up in slack so that meant roping real late, in the dark. Also meant that the K's were tuckered and couldn't fight sleep one more minute!
I spent the evening yacking up a storm with my gal-pal, Kristy. She broke her leg about 9 weeks ago playing "kick ball", yes, "kick ball!" She's been off her horses and going crazy. She's one of the best barrel racers and horse trainers in the state. She's been working with Bailey and Mighty and making significant progress! I remmeber watching her years ago and wishing I could know her and ride like her. Look now . . . she's my neighbor and married to one of my husband's best friends!

This is Monte! He's toodling around with Kash Richard. Monte and Rick rodeo'd years ago when Bailey was just a baby. This is one of those amazing things God does - we had no idea that Monte and Kristy lived just two miles away from us. He knew where He was planting us and has a great plan!
Bo rode the "Black Turd" around all night. This horse will hunch up and buck ya off but he's one of the best ropin' horses on the place.
Bailey got to run "Big" in the exhibitions because she was a "local cowgirl". Rodeo fans like seeing locals. She did pretty good on him, this only being his 2nd time to run. She ended up runnin' in Monte's cowboy hat because she had Dad's on but when she was warming up, the wind blew it off her head and right into a field of tall grass. It was dark and no finding it that fast. We did eventually find the cowboy hat, thank goodness.
That concludes our rodeo adventure. Stay tuned, "Old Settler's Rodeo" in Mulvane is this weekend. Bailey is running and Rick is roping.

I love those late night rodeos!! It's sooo much cooler!! But then there are bugs.....LOL

Fun! We're heading to a local jackpot roping tonight, which will probably be a late night for us, as well. Hope I can beat up on the cowboys and win some $$$!
So I'm playing catch up again LOL!! That was a long night!! I got that taste Saturday night LOL!! Same thing they did to us last year...
