Where in the world am I?

These last few weeks, I've been wondering where in the world I am! I mean, the weather has been INCREDIBLE for July. We've had middle 80's, I've even turned off the AC! Can't be Global Warming . . . maybe Global Cool Down. Now, I am not complaining!

But last night, I finally, remembered where I was at. It was one or so in the morning, the winds were starting to pick up. I thought I had better get up and check out the NWS radar.

I went to the Sunroom, where the computer is and as I opened the back door of the house, the outside door to the sunroom blew open . . . rain everywhere . . . lightning, thunder . . . good grief. I got the door shut, sat down at the computer, and lost power. GREAT! Tornado could be 2 miles away and we were not going to know until we heard it!

Well . . . the Udall area was hit pretty good with some "straight-line" winds. Fortunately, we just have some roof damage and other stuff.

I am sad about this . . .

. . . my apple tree . . . split at the trunk . . .

. . . and this . . .

. . . my corn laid over on it's side . . .

. . . and then I wonder about this . . . a round bale feeder by the propane tank? . . .

. . . rolled on it's side all the way from up there . . . the barn!

And then you have the little tragedies that you have to just let happen . . .

. . . I've moved them back to an area where I see several rabbits. Hopefully, their mama will find them. I know nothing about rabbits and their habbits but they always seem thankful when I get them back into the brush so they can hide.

. . . and then a good storm wouldn't be complete without scared four year olds!

Sheer exhaustion caused this crazy scene in my living room.

I'm sleep deprived but I have a clear memory of where I am at . . .

KANSAS!

Blessings~

Never been to Kansas...but I'm sure I wouldn't like a tornado!! Glad you are all OK. Well, except your poor apple tree...that doesn't look too promising. Your corn might try to stand up...maybe.

Take care~~

Whew, not fun. We had a major lightening storm, but not much else. Hope your corn recoups. There's nothing like having a beautiful garden get beat to death by a storm.

Goodness! What a storm! I'm glad that y'all are all safe although I am shedding a tear for your apple tree, and your corn. Hope the babies found their way back to their mama too. We have our share of wind around here - lost a big part of an old tree by the bunkhouse last week. Hope your agreeable weather returns soon!

Wowsers! Sorry about the apple tree. I grew up in the Panhandle of Texas. I remember one night I was home with my older brother. Stormed very hard. Next morning we went outside. The cross ties were thrown off the top of the barn. Our horse trailer was turned 180 degrees. It was crazy!
