Swept Off My Feet . . .

We've had a busy weekend - Rick, Bailey, and Bo went to a team roping in Pawhuska, OK - I stayed home and did about 7 loads of laundry and cleaned house and then on Sunday we had a Fall Baseball double header.

I took Bo and the K's to his first game while Rick and Bailey went to church. They then met us at the second game and brought the K's their trusted stick horses, "Brownie" and "Blue". Now, the K's love their horses - they run through the house, all around the yard, and up to the barn - anywhere their little legs will run those horses.

So, while we are watching the ballgame, I see the K's take off - after a squirrel! Up the tree the squirrel went and around the tree the K's circled. Just waiting for that squirrel to come down. A couple dads were standing around just laughing and watching the K's so I went over and we waited patiently for that squirrel. It then heads down the back of the tree while the K's aren't paying attention. They stop and look at the tree and that little squirrel looks around at them, they scream, the squirrel takes off and so do the K's. All the dads started laughing as we took off on the trusted stick horses, herding the squirrel back out of the ball field area.

The K's decide they aren't going to be able to catch that critter so we decide to have a good old fashioned horse race back to Bo's ball field! Mom is racing too, but without a stick horse. Ready, set, GO - I hadn't taken two steps and found myself on all fours! Klay's stick literally swept under my feet and took me right down! Scrapped knees and hands, I looked over and the dads are just looking at me! I said, "Did you see that?" Not a word was said but the heads nodded with big smiles on their faces. I said, "Welcome to my world, gentlemen!"

Stuff like that always happens when a crowd is watching! Sounds like you handled it well!! What else can you do?!

You're a great Mommy to play with your boys like that.

Not many kids play with stick horses these days - you can bet my kids did and as soon as Karli is big enough....well we've got her one saddled!! Guess I best get me a pair of knee pads, huh??

Hope your knees are better! Getting thrown by the stick horse might bruise the pride a little! But you could have said you "were praying" for patience! Ha!

That was great. Only you could pull off that kind of a "spill" and get up with that comment!

LOL...that's too funny, but these kids will kkep us young.

Since I just got another boy, maybe I need to get him a stick horse. Where do you buy such a critter?

Valerie - You can get a stick horse at Sheplers or Atwoods - they run about $20. These two ponies have been one of the best purchases - but the K's just told their dad that they wanted horses that had legs like his horses!
