Vengence

I am extremely sad today. Many of you may not be aware, but Wichita, Kansas is the abortion capital of the world. Abortions from 6 weeks up to 39 1/2 weeks are performed here. The blood of many babies are shed here on a daily basis.

Dr. George Tiller is the performer of the all term abortions. I have experienced an abortion at the hand of Dr. George Tiller and have experienced the forgiveness of our Savior, Jesus for the destruction of the life that grew inside me.

However, today, this morning, in this man's very church, a person stepped inside and shot Dr. George Tiller dead. I am extremely saddened by this. I do not know this man's story of why but . . .

Romans 12:19 says "Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord." (NASB ©1995)

Some would say this is a huge step forward for those apposed to abortion. I on the other hand feel this is a huge step backwards. This man's family may never come to know the saving grace found in Jesus Christ after this event.

However, one thing I know for sure and certain, Mr. Tiller has now stood before the Almighty and faced his judgement.

As we all will. We know not the hour or the day. You may know God, but do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?

(One more thing - It is Monday morning in Wichita, Kansas - the cry of the unborn is silent today. I rejoice.)

* * WARNING ! ! * *

DUE TO THE GRAPHIC NATURE OF THIS POST . . .

RUBBER GLOVES, FACE MASK, AND A STRONG STOMACH ARE REQUIRED!

Mr. Mouse has been living the the good life. We were gone all weekend at a baseball tournament. I forgot all about him and didn't get traps before we left, so the house was his! I'm sure he enjoyed the quiet ability to just romp all over my kitchen. YES! I am grossed out!

So . . . we get home and Mr. Mouse forgets! The little sucker runs through MY kitchen like he owns the place! Okay, that is the last straw!

I AM NOT Cinderella! I do not make little clothes for my little "non-friend" mice! Called THE MAN! Asked him to please stop by the store! I am not going to share my kitchen any longer!

My Hero comes homes, sets a trap under my stove top and we go sit in the living room to watch a movie with the kids!

SNAP!

Maybe three minutes has passed. Wow! This fella is brazen and dead!

NOTHING!

My Hero lubes up the trap with more peanut butter and we got back to the living room. About ten minutes later . . .

SNAP! Oh, yeah, baby!

To my . . .

HORROR, SHOCK, AND AMAZEMENT

We find . . .

TWO! Gross!!! Two on one trap! Here is the proof! I know you don't really want to see it . . .but here is where the strong stomach comes in!

I know! I'm grossed out too! I'm grossed out that there are two. Grossed out that they are dead on my stove. Grossed out that my stove is really pretty . . . gross!

So, My Hero removes the varmits. We clean up the stove and he says, "Them, there varmits . . . are babies!" Eeeck, gross, have another freak-out!

YOU MEAN THERE'S MORE?

Yep . . . better set another trap. GROSSSSSS!

Middle of the night, my eyes shoot wide open . . . I heard something! I'm not gonna get up . . . I'll wait on My Hero.

My Hero oversleeps, jumps from the shower, throws on his clothes, yells, "I'm late, really late . . . you have to get Mr. Mouse!"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

For the safety of my family . . . I lift up the stove top. We're not talking fancy here . . . no stainless steel . . . good 'ol gas stove . . . I lift up the stove top . . .

TO MY HORROR . . . Mr. Mouse is Mrs. Mouse! I've killed a mother! I've killed two of her babies! How many more are there?

DO I FEEL BAD?

Nah!

DO I NEED THERAPY?

Maybe!

I'm feeling quite jubulant right now! That's kinda sick . . . but . . .

I HAVE MY KITCHEN BACK!

I think . . . until I figure out if there are any more babies!

Blessings~

It's True . . .

We've suspected it for a little while, thought we saw the signs, knew it was a possiblity . . .

We have . . .

another . . .

MOUSE!!!

Great scott . . . I hate mice . . . they steal your food, poop in your cabinets, cause a ruckus!

We have one little brazen mouse! He even sneaked up on the counter and tried to steal a leftover piece of bacon. Bailey was sitting at the table, saw the thief, ran to get Bo . . . he came in to assess the situation and they screamed! Scaring the thief, who left the piece of bacon on the stovetop, after having dragged it a good six inches.

I'm quite grossed out - getting out the 409, bleach, explosives, whatever it will take to protect my family and rid my home of this invasion!!!

PETA has no room here - this mouse is GOING DOWN!!

My Sister, Leah . . .

She's gonna kill me! She hates every picture thats ever been taken of her! But . . . May 15th is her birthday!

She's the middle sister! I can't remember if Daddy called her George or Pete. I think he called the Yvonne - Sam, the Leah - George and me, Pete.

Leah is just a really neat person. As we've grown older, we've become the best of friends. Just after Ricky was born, Leah decided to take her twin boys and move to Kentucky. It was a career decision and a needed change for that time in her life.

I think when she moved away from family, away from home, that she truly found out who Leah is. She is brave, tough, determined, intelligent, loving, devoted. She's an overcomer and a fighter. She's everything I could imagine for a sister and more.

She met Bailey and I in Chicago for Bailey's 8th birthday. We went to the American Girl Place, toured Chicago and just had a blast having girl time. Bailey was so excited to see her Aunt Leah at the airport!

Then, she came home to see my twin boys. She understands everything I'm going through with twinhood. Her boys are now at the University of Kentucky. Fine young men who have been raised to love the Lord.

Leah played softball in highschool and was really good at it. I remeber wanting to be like her. I would sit on the floor by her closed bedroom door and just wait on she and Cindy to come out. I know . . . I was the brat little sister. I was in love with every one of her boyfriends, especially Harry Scarth! He had the most incredible blue eyes! By the way . . . if you know rodeo . . . Leah has even had a date or two with high school chum, Tommy Reeves! Yep, no kidding! He was a dreamboat too!

This is my beautiful sister and this is her birthday. Please say a quick prayer today that she would be blessed abundantly by our Lord Jesus! I love her so much and it is an honor to call her Sister and Best Friend.

Happy Birthday, Leah!

Blessings~

Where Did The Week Go?

Is it really Thursday?! I haven't posted about Mother's Day yet! So much to get caught up on!

When you have a baseball kid, holidays are non-existant! Unless . . . you play in the . . .

MOTHER'S DAY CLASSIC!

In this tournament, flowers are provided for all the player's Moms. How sweet is that! Guess what else I got at this tournament . . .

You Guessed It! Another HOME RUN BASEBALL! A two run homer! And look . . . a side smile showing off those dimples! He would rather you see his game face . . .

However, this is more of a blank stare!

The Wichita Storm ended up winning this tournament in style! Run-ruled a couple teams and the pitching just shut 'em down! Bo pitched in two games totalling six innings. That's more pitching then he's had in the last two years. He did a great job!

Came home, took a long nap and then on Monday, Bo went for a ride on Socks. Came back with flowers for me!! Some wild Iris'! I quickly put them in a vase and actually got a lip kiss! Bailey added some to the bunch and then the K's added more.

That rounded out my Mother's Day weekend. No diamonds, just good family time. And YES, more rain!

Working in the garden today before another round of storms hit the area.

End your week, Friends, with heartfelt gratitude to the Lord above. Every day is a gift!

Blessings~

Rain, Baseball, and Laundry

~ UPDATE! We have SUNSHINE and BLUE SKIES above! Yippee, Yeehaw, Hot Dog, lets go mow the grass! ~

Okay - I am sure you are all tired of my rain complaining, especially the gals in the drout stricken areas! We're going on day 465 of constant rain. Okay, maybe that is an exaggeration but it seems like it. No sunshine is making me edgy, depressed, sleepy, groggy, lithargic, and extremely behind on my baseball mom's tan. And I don't need to remind those of you who know me in person that it takes me all summer to get any kind of a tan!

Here is a self-portrait of me enduring the rain at Bo's baseball tournament in Salina this last weekend. Please note: No tan, rained off make-up with exception to the eye liner complimenting the many laugh lines around my eyes. My umbrella is doing a stand-up job keeping me dry! I'm wearing a turtle neck, sweatshirt, and jacket in May! We've had two baseball tournaments started and then rained out half-way through so it was good to actually get to finish a tournament.

Here is a picture of Bo pitching.

He hasn't done alot this season. He is the primary short stop, a catcher in training, and number 5 out of 7 pitchers. He likes to pitch but I think he likes catching better. He did a fantastic job in this game for it only being his second time pitching this season. He struck out several batters, some hit off of him, BUT he didn't walk anyone! Oh, wait, he hit his first batter right in the shoulder. Just happened to be the biggest kid on the team. Fortunately, the batter didn't charge the mound!

His bat was really hot at this tournament. No homeruns but significant hits that gave them run opportunities. We are really proud of him. He has taken ownership of his practices and his team. He has stepped up into a leadership role offering encouragement to the pitcher, keeping the team up on the count, encouragement from teh duggout and causing "chatter" - "hey batter, batter". We are on a competitive team - no trash talk, but this is baseball!

Here he is goofing off for me. He just stole home, picked up the bat, and pretended to break it over his knee. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't do action shots very good so this is after the bat breaking.

Now, my last post mentioned 10 loads of laundry - just so happens that four of those loads were created by two very active, ornery, energetic, and silly four year olds! I decided that enough was enough . . . if the big kids can do their laundry, the K's can learn!

Klay has his six-shooter on his hip, playing "Matt Dillon". Gunsmoke is a favorite around here and the K's are always chasing bad guys or facing off in a gun battle. We draw on each other with just about anything - spoons, shoes, you name it.

Klay thinks he needs to give Kash some encouragement by threatening to draw on him if he didn't fold.

Note that Kash is the only one really working. He loves to fold clothes . . . don't ask me why!

I am not totally caught up on the laundry, just maintaining. Maybe, just maybe the sun will come out tomorrow and I can hang a bunch out on the clothesline!

I am refreshed and encouraged as I remember how the Good Lord placed a rainbow in the sky for Noah as a sign that He would not destroy the earth with water ever again. His mercies are new every morning.

Blessings~
P.
