Hello Friends - It's been an interesting day.
Took Bailey to a Central 4D barrel race in Derby. It is not uncommon for men to run barrels and Ron Eckerman has started. His wife, Cheri, is a pretty talented horse woman and she has him riding a real seasoned horse.
As he was coming in to the arena, not sure what actually happened but the horse reared significantly, Ron came off, and then the horse lost his footing and came down on Ron.
Update from the hospital was no broken bones, no swelling or bleeding in the brain. Large gash on the head that required numerous staples and extreme pain that the Dr.'s are still trying to determine the cause.
It was a traumatic experience for all of us as he was unconscious for quite a bit of time and then finally started coming around.
Please keep the Eckerman's in your prayers.
Blessings~
P.

I'm on it my friend! :)
Yes, ma'm, we certainly will!
I was praying for you earlier as I heard of a nasty accident due to fog in Kansas...didn't catch where in your state, only caught the end of the story, happy to here you are safe and sound at home.
WOW Paula!! How scary! I have and will continue to pray for Ron...
Sending prayers your way.
Oh no, that is so sad. I'm sorry you all had to go through this, it is so stressful to see someone you care about injured, even more so by a horse as we all love riding so much yet know it can be so dangerous. I sure hope he is on the mend soon! I'll send prayers to you all. Think positive thoughts!
Prayers will be going up for your friend. I have seen that happen and yes it is a very disturbing that to watch! Keep us posted! xoxox
