Okay, folks . . . you can vaccum until the cows come home but there is still stuff under that carpet! I was amazed what I found! Zoom in on this baby!
NO! I didn't bring a bucket load of sandy dirt in to make it more dramatic! That is exactly what was under my carpet! It is not 40 year old shag either! Your basic, middle '90's hunter green carpet.
Thankfully, now it's gone. Pictures of my wonderful floor to come as soon as we get the rest put in. May take a month or so but I'll post 'em when we're done!
Until then . . . keep on vaccuming!
Blessings~

Yeah, carpet sucks the sand down into the depths of the padding!! It's crazy! When we moved into our new house I insisted no carpet!! I vacuum about twice a day if not more to get all the dirt and sand, and dog hair up!! It's crazy!
I can't wait to see what your new floors look like!! How exciting!
We did that same thing when we moved into our house. It had kitchen and dining room carpet. When we pulled it up it was disgusting. Now we have the floating floors in our kitchen and dining room and I really like them. Good luck.
LUCKY YOU!!! That's exactly what's next in our home...just don't know exactly when it'll be. I want this stinkin' ol' carpet out of the house sooooo bad!!!
Look forward to the pics of the finished floors!
Oh my, that's nasty nasty!! Ugh!
I don't even want to know what's under ours....
I hear you! Remember our pulling up the carpet adventure. I am not lying we scooped up over a five gallon bucket full of sand. It was soooooo gross. I hate carpet. Now I just sweep and mop and I don't mind at all. So much cleaner.
Can't wait to see the pictures.

Oh this is RanchWife, didn't realize DD was signed in.
I agree, after we pulled up the living room and dining room carpet - we decided to get it completely out of our house. We have the 3 bedrooms left and we will be done! It's so nasty!
I hate to think what's lurking under what carpeting I have left in the house. We pulled most of it but I still have it in the upstairs bedrooms and the family room. I hate carpeting, the only thing going for it is it's warm on your feet in the winter here unlike the tile floors in the bathrooms which are freezing! And of course if one of the cats throws up it HAS to be on the carpeting! GAG!
So glad you wrote about the Disney movie. I had not researched it either and was thinking about taking my grand kids to it. I will not now! It saddens me that they use such topics for childrens movies. As much as I love going to Disney World with my family I am disappointed in so many of their movies now. Thanks for writing about it!!!!!
I'm going to go vacuum right now!!
We just removed the carpets from out dining room last fall...and mine looked EXACTLY the same. Little piles of sand/dirt everywhere. Creeps you out, huh? I may have to sweep and dust under furniture more now with hardwoods, but at least I KNOW I am not living atop whatever is lurking in that rug....ick. Can't wait to see pics....I love before & afters. ;-) ....and, Karma...I am sweeping the carpet that is left more now, too!!!
