Foul Ball Territory - UPDATE!

KANSAS TOP GUN TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!

Nice, lovely bruise spread below the eye! Lookin' tough!

Bo was Mr. Consistant all weekend. Nothing flashy, just RBI's and solid play. He spent time at short stop, third base, and catcher.

It was a good weekend - a nice cold front kept us at the 91 degree mark on Sunday. Now that's pretty tolerable!

Blessings~

We're playing in Winfield this weekend at the Kansas Top Gun tournament. Tom Cruise is not expected to appear. We do have some fly-boys on our team though. Two boys hit fly balls all the way to the fence and one hit it over. We beat the Wichita Hawks 19-0!

Bo was up to bat - he bats 3rd in the line-up.

The first pitch was a pretty one right down the middle. He should have nailed it but he had the "take" sign from the coach.

Then came a a curve ball that caused Bo to jump out.

Bo likes inside pitches. He likes to pull the ball down the third baseline and a real good hit sails over the left field wall.

On his third pitch, he was anticipating the curve - Dad had reminded him that he needs to stay in and let it curve. This pitch didn't curve, came in nice and tight, Bo went for the pitch but it was too tight, and he cracked a foul ball . . .

Right into his own face . . .

He's starting to black and blue pretty good and pretty puffy - my camera is not great. Yesterday, the scrape mark was a clear "baseball seam".

Took him to his knees, I had to start pacing but he ended up getting back up, hitting a hard ball to short. He was thrown out at first but got an RBI. He said he didn't see the ball, he just swung.

I'm hauling Sis to a rodeo today so won't see him play. I'm praying for his safety and that he would not be rattled by this but step up to the plate like any other day.

Have a great weekend - It's 100 degrees in the heartland and hay is looking good!

Blessings Ya'll~

Way to take one for the team Ricky!

We will be in Winfield on Sun morn for a car show. Hoping we are done before it gets over 100.

Praying for ya' Bo, just keep at it - that's a pretty good shiner! Bless ya'll as you burn up the highways!
PS Good job Mom for not running down to him when he was hurt. When our boys played sports and rodeo'd - the only request they ever made of me was: - Momma never come out if we get hurt - wait til we are out of the arena! (My dad used to tell us when we were in Little Britches Rodeo - "I don't care if you are dying - you get out of that arena before you do it!" and I guess I passed that on to my kiddoes!)
