Okay - we really close on our house tomorrow at 4:00pm. Please pray that all goes well.
I spotted a Bob Cat - not a cougar - but a good sized Bob Cat! Just a mile from my house in broad daylight. I bet he weighed about 30 pounds! That was one of those times I wish I had a big fancy camera with me all the time!
Bo had a baseball tournament this last weekend in Arkansas City - I wasn't able to be there on Sunday but whenever Rick or I can't make it, we give the other play-by-play over the phone. To make a long story short, the Sliders went to the championship game and it was the bottom of the 5th, the Haysville Dirt Bags were kicken' the Winfield Sliders all over the field with an 8-0 lead. Rick called and gave me details . . . now I've said many times that the Good Lord cares about the little things in our lives just as much as the big things . . . now my boy winning a tournament is little in the grand scheme of things . . . but to him, it's major. So I sat there and just asked the Lord to allow the Sliders to get a rally going and then what ever happened would just happen.
I hadn't heard from Rick for about 15 minutes so I called back and said, "please tell me the reason you haven't called back is because we have a rally going on!" He said, "YEP!" Bottom of the 6th and Sliders had scored 7 runs - score was 8-7 and Bo was up! He hit one high in the air, it was dropped, two runs were scored! Then the Dirt Bags scored another run and then the Sliders bat again. The score was 9-9 with one out and we had a runner on 1st and 2nd. I can't even tell you how it happened in all the confusion but we got the two runs in and won the game!
TO TOP IT OFF - Bo hit a home run in the game before - over the green monster - into the next field and over the 2nd baseman! I now have four baseballs on my shelf, two grand slams and two home runs!
Bo learned a great deal at this tournament about perseverance and determination, respect for authority and desire to do his best. God can use any situation, any circumstance, any person!
Blessings~
