10 Things About Me!

I was tagged by Angie!

Here's how you play. Once you've been tagged you have to write a blog of ten weird, random things, facts or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose five people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them to be tagged. Don't forget to leave them a comment "You're it!" and tell them to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Since you can't tag that person back, let her know when you've posted your blog so she can read your answers.

1) I've always disliked that I bite my nails. I can't remember when I started!
2) I get way toooo excited when I watch my boy wrestle!
3) I love thinking about how to decorate my home, but am terrible at it!
4) Like Angie - I try to feed the kids breakfast before I check my email!
5) I love to get excited about starting a project, then I start it and never get it done! This drives my husband crazy! Me too! See why I need a painting party!
6) I am pretty passive and have always been a peace keeper - however, I have had to chew on my shoe before!
7) My dad died when I was 19. Dad called us girls, Pete, George, and Sam.
8) I turn 40 this year and am NOT looking forward to it!
9) I was first attracted to my husband's two-stepping ability, and then he kissed me right on the dance floor! I was in love after that!
10) Yes, if I see butt-crack, you better believe I am laughing histerically!

I'm tagging:

Leslie - because she and I are cowgirls at heart!
Mindy - because she is precious and growing a baby bump!
Joy - because Motherhood is the greatest career!
Kyle - because she is a newly wed and has so much to tell us!
Karma - because when the boys get in trouble they cry "Kaaarrrrmmaa"!

The BIG 4-0

Rick turned 40 on February 15th. He didn't want any big deal so we just went to Ryan's and buffeted our bodies! Rick's mom, "Garma Eanie" Renie and our good friend, Tom Sanders spent the evening with us! We had a good time and of course . . . the batteries were dead!

Herd of Horses

Why is it that two sets of precious feet, running through the house at 6:00 in the morning, sound like a herd of horses? Maybe because most of the time, they've already gotten Blue and Brownie (their trusted stick horses) out of their stalls, have cowboy hats on, and are running through the house shouting "Yeehaw"! Who needs a Rooster when you have Klay and Kash!

Augusta Wrestling Tournament

Ricky wrestled in Augusta on Saturday in the 10 and Under 70 Weight. I always get a little excited at these events! He lost his first match by a pin and instantly went into the losers bracket. But the good things is, you can be a winner even if you are in the losers bracket! He went on to win his next three matches, and lost his fifth and final match. BUT he placed 4th! His goal was to place and I think he accomplished his goal! I'll have picture as soon as I replace the batteries that I just replaced!

Bumps, Bruises, and a good dose of humility!

Okay - Since Karma's kids love gore . . .and Valerie thought they might feel cheated . . . here is a Rated G picture of the chest bruise! The road rash is pretty much gone, thanks to A&D Ointment!

But WAIT . . . would you believe . . . I hit a deer last night! Well . . . the stupid thing actually hit me! Ran right into the side/front pannel of my van! I asked Rick last night if God was trying to tell me something . . . and he ever so gently (Ha) said, "Do you remember how you didn't want to drive the "smashed, broken windshield, totaled car" to your open house so that I could work on your van? You insisted on driving your van because it wouldn't look good to have a smashed windshield in the drive of your open house . . .well . . . now your van is "smashed" and looks worse than the car." Okay, okay! Point taken! If I ever get to the point in my RE career that I can afford a Lexus - it will probably have a broken windshield!
PS - Does anyone see how white those walls are? Want to come for a painting party? Anyone?

Airbags

In Luke 8: 26 - 39, Jesus cast out a legion of demons from a man who had been plagued with them for years. When He cast the demons into a herd of pigs and freed the man, the man wanted to follow Jesus but He simply said, in vs. 39, "Return home and tell how much God has done for you." How simple is that?!

Last night, I experienced a full blow to my jaw and chest from my airbag. Ricky was with me and fortuantely, his seat was far enough back that he was not hurt. As bad as I feel today, I could have lost my boy simply from the force of that bag. BUT, God is good and His love endures and I'm returning to tell you about it!!

I've been reading this scripture daily and it means even more to me today.

Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber,

indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life;

the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
AMEN! Blessings! P.
