So, DH started doing some serious washer shopping. Went on-line, read consumer reports, checked prices . . . and this is what we got . . .

A Whirlpool Cabrio! I swore I would never buy a front load again. And I didn't. This is probably the only thing my gal-pal, Les, and I disagree on! She loves her front load and I hated mine! BUT . . .I can not believe how much laundry I can do at one time. I can wass at least 15 towels! And it spins the buggers so fast, they are almost dry when I take them out! AND I don't even hear it! Well . . . I do a little but at least I can talk on the phone in the back bedroom and people can hear me now!
Now on to the really great Valentine's present! The men of the Broken Y went teamroping on Sunday. Bo, my 11 year old son roped in the #8. If you aren't familiar with the number format for teamroping, every teamroper that wants to rope at USTRC Sanctioned events has to be classified by a number. Since Bo just started, he's a 2. His dad is a #5, the pro's are usually around a 9 and the highest being 10. So Bo roped in a #8 roping and both partners have to equal 8 or less.
He and one partner came back 6th fastest team in the short go - and ended up winning the whole shabang! Pocketed a wad of cash, a box of chocolates and a sweatshirt that said champion down the arm. Not bad for a kid roping with a bunch of grown men!
Now . . . the husband roped in the #10 - so both partners have to equal ten or less. He had three call backs to the short go - 12th, 8th, and 6th fastest teams back. He finished 3rd in that roping ...WE WERE EXCITED! He pocketed some moolaw also and a good day was had by all!!
It's been a good weekend. Bailey and I both made really good runs on Friday but were just out of the money, then the men won on Sunday, and I'm washing clothes in my new washing machine!
OH, by the way - Dear, sweet hubbie turned 42 on Monday! We had to celebrate that as well. AND as usual, I have a fancy new camcorder/camera combo and have no pictures!

Have a wonderful week, friends. I'm slowly getting caught back up. You can catch me on facebook (Paula Bailey Yaussi) as well.
Remember, the magnificient Creator of the universe is waiting for your call!
Blessings~

Well, what a "winner, winner'chicken dinner!" of a valentine's weekend you all had! Congrats on the horsey stuff and a belated happy b-day to your hubby!
(try to remember the camera/camcorder next time, k??)
Sounds like a fantasic weekend for all!
Funny how a new washing machine can make us Mom's so happy! Never thought THAT would happen. I love my front load by the way. :) Stop over and visit soon.
WOW! Don't you just love getting a new washing machine. We recently got a new dryer and it has made a world of difference!
That is awesome that you guys all did so well at the rodeo. Tell Rick I said "Happy belated birthday"
Sounds like a super weekend! Way to go on the rodeo wins! Now, if only your new camera could take pictures on it's own.
That is the exact washer my Hubby wants to buy! I want a front load though... Now, now....No booing over there!!
Congrats to the boys!! Great job!!
Sounds like you guys had a great Valentine's weekend! Congrats to your boys!
And congrats to YOU on the washer! :)
I think it sounds like a GREAT Valentines day!
Any kind of new appliance is NOT offensive to me...I am so Thankful and Love it!
You're right...we don't disagree on much...except that darn washing machine!! LOL
My in-laws neptune started sounding like a rocket ship after about 11 years- ours is on year 4 and still going strong. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go knock on every piece of wood in a 10 mile radius. ;)
What a great weekend! Wish I could have been there to watch all of the events! My dream (which will never happen in this life) is to rent a big RV and go around the country visiting all of my blogger friends for a day! I see your lives on the computer but how much more fun to see it all in person and cheering everyone on! Doesn't cost a dime to dream does it?!
I hate my front loader! I can't do scatter rugs in it as they won't spin and I have to take them next door to my Mom's and spin them out. Keep me posted on how you like your machine after you have used it for a while as I may be replacing mine.
Glad you had such a wonderful weekend!! xoxox
Just me again wondering if you are still having good luck with your top loader. If mine are ruined from the mess at the lake house I will have to replace both the washer and dryer so I am very interested as to how yours is working. I need something that can handle lots of beach towels as we go through a ton of them at the lake!
Thanks for the good info. That would be great at the lake house for all of the beach towels! Plus it would be good here at home as I wash almost every day so if I could do bigger loads I wouldn't have to wash as often. Isn't it funny how we women get all excited about a washing machine!!
Well, look at that super awesome gift!! WOW!!! I would have LOVED that!! I think it's funny how as we grow older we get so super excited for kitchen utensils, new dish towel, a washing machine!!! LOL!!! I love it!! You lucky gal!!
And happy birthday to your cowboy!!!
Don't give me diamonds, give me equipment that I can use to make my yard and such prettier. Give me tools to make my life easier....you are girl after my own heart!!
