My Cowgirl and Cowboy!

Okay - I'm motivated to go walk on my treadmill, but before I do, I wanted to tell you about my Cowgirl and Cowboy! We are headed to a "Fun Show" in a couple weeks so we've been practicing here at home. Bailey knows that girls in her age group are already running their horses pretty fast around the barrels so the other night she decided it was time to give "Socks" a whirl! Now, if you don't put Socks into the second barrel just right, he'll come out bucking so she was a bit nervous. So was I, since I was standing next to the second barrel in the area we wanted to eep him out of. She took him at a lope which is sometimes harder to ride then a full run, rounded the first barrel and her eyes were as big as saucers - he took off headed right towards me but she managed to move him over and he whipped right around me without knocking me or the barrel over, headed to the third barrel and whipped around it like a pro and Socks took off for home, I was praying she would be able to pull him up because she was riding a lighter bit - She did and a big YEEHAWWW! came out! I think she had a good time! Now that I know she can stay on, I think I will survive.

Rick and Bo have been teamroping quite a bit. We have spent hours on our "Hot Heels", pulling it around and having both of them come in and rope the back feet. We are able to control how tight the rope gets once the guys have wrapped the rope around their saddle horn. (It is at this point that it is easy to have a finger or thumb burned off by the nylon rope). We've been making sure Bo really knows how to dally before we let him on LIVE cattle. Rick took Bo to a friends house the other day and let Bo rope some real moo moo's! He roped like a champ and healed more two feet then the other guys there! Bo has really been practicing and listening to Dad's instructions.

We remind Bailey and Ricky on a daily basis that their talent in ANYTHING is a gift from God - and all praise and glory goes to HIM. Bragging is reserved for MOM!

Blessings Friends - In the Name of Jesus!

OK...this city girl did not understand 90% of that. I am figuring that Bailey can ride a horse very well and Bo can catch cows pretty well too! Right? :) What about the K boys? Are they making saddles and huntin' for dinner yet?

Hey Val - I'm loving how you are using "well" the adjective instead of "good" the adverb! You got it right! They are both getting pretty good at the horse-stuff! The K boys can do just about anything on a stick horse and let me tell you, those stick horses can be some serious broncs!

Put your camera in your purse, along with some extra batteries. Try slide.com for easy slide shows. Amy and Angie can help you do almost anything on a blog! They are the queens!

I agree with Valerie...most of that was foreign languange to me! You may have to post a Cowboy 101 to explain these new words!

Great job Bailey and Ricky!!
